Position - IT Department

ILTE – National Development Bank is building a technical Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center of Excellence and is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to help shape its technical direction and turn complex business needs into reliable, scalable, and production-ready AI solutions.

In this role, you will have significant freedom to evaluate technologies, shape technical solutions, build prototypes, and take successful ideas through to production. A key part of the role will be transforming processes currently handled manually through Excel, email, or separate files into efficient internal applications and AI-powered solutions.

We are looking for an experienced engineer who goes beyond writing code — someone who can understand the problem, evaluate alternatives, make sound technical decisions, and take ownership of solutions from initial concept through production and continuous improvement.

What you will do

• design and implement AI solution architectures and integrate them with the company’s information systems;

• build and develop LLM, RAG, agentic workflow, NLP, and, where appropriate, machine learning solutions;

• evaluate and select technologies, platforms, and architectural approaches based on business and technical requirements;

• work closely with business representatives, system analysts, and architects to identify opportunities for digitalization, automation, and AI adoption;

• build prototypes, evaluate their results, and take successful solutions through to production;

• analyze, optimize, and expand existing AI solutions;

• ensure AI solutions meet the company’s architecture, security, quality, reliability, and governance requirements;

• digitalize and automate manual processes using AI, Python, Power Apps, RPA, LLMs, and other modern technologies;

• promote effective use of AI coding assistants such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar tools throughout software development;

• evaluate AI solution quality, model outputs, errors, and limitations, and contribute to robust testing and evaluation practices;

• collaborate across the organization to ensure smooth integration and adoption of AI solutions;

• monitor developments in AI technology and assess the maturity and practical applicability of emerging tools and approaches;

• contribute to technical standards, engineering best practices, and the development of AI capabilities within the organization;

• provide technical guidance and support to other engineers and stakeholders when needed.

What we are looking for

• at least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, data, automation, AI/ML solution development, or a related field;

• strong hands-on experience building and deploying AI solutions into production;

• advanced Python and SQL skills, including data processing, query optimization, and REST API development and integration;

• strong practical experience with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini, as well as RAG, embeddings, and AI orchestration solutions;

• experience designing and implementing agentic workflows using LangChain or similar AI orchestration technologies;

• strong software architecture skills and the ability to evaluate scalability, reliability, security, cost, and maintainability when designing AI solutions;

• experience with at least one major cloud platform: GCP, Azure, or AWS;

• strong software engineering fundamentals, including Git, testing, code review, CI/CD, and Docker;

• hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and the ability to critically review, validate, and control AI-generated code;

• ability to independently analyze ambiguous and complex problems, formulate technical alternatives, and make well-reasoned technical decisions;

• strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex AI concepts and technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders;

• ability and willingness to take technical ownership from problem discovery and prototyping through production deployment and continuous improvement;

• ability to mentor colleagues, share knowledge, and contribute to the development of AI engineering practices.

Salary

Monthly gross salary: from 4300 EUR to 6400 EUR. The specific salary offer will depend on your professional experience and competencies.

Employees may also be eligible for a variable compensation component, the amount and payment terms of which are determined in accordance with ILTE’s policy governing employee compensation and/or performance evaluation.
